Nov 18, 2013 1:49 PM in response to Barry Hemphillby HenkRoodt,Just a quick note. If you shut down, reboot and log into a guest account (if you have one) you can check to see if the Bluetooth service is available there. If so, logging out and the returning to your account may solve the issue. If it is not available in the guest account, you should look at the other approaches listed here. Just to save a bit of time right at the start.
Regards,
Henk

Mar 15, 2015 11:36 AM in response to Tony34by billw3,Interesting, when I shut down and then hit the power button and hold it, the computer just restarts.....no one else had that problem who tried Tony34's fix? I ran AHT (the short version) and nothing happened; I tried the SMC reset and don't have a clue if that did anything because when I followed the procedure the computer did nothing to let me know it was responding--no sound, no disruption of the magsafe green LED on the power connector, nothing.
I'd like to try Tony34's method, which seems to be working for others, but as I said, I'm apparently doing something wrong because holding the power button down (instead of releasing it as normal) does nothing to stall the actual restart of the computer.
Thoughts, anyone?
