Q: Error 504 when submitting to itunes store

Hi

I've been receiving an error 504 when submitting the feed: http://positively-prototronic.meximas.com/feed/podcast

On the site I'm using powerpress which is handling the feeds and the episodes are stored on archive.org its using http:// rather than https://. I've tried testing it through subscribe and everything seems healthy there. I've tried changing the feed title and link, no luck there. any ideas?

Thanks

Alex

Error 504 means 'bad gateway' and is explained here.

However your feed loads quickly and works fine when subscribing. Possibly the Store might be thrown by the '.mp3' in the folder name, but in any case that wouldn't prevent it from reading the feed. However if you can change that folder name to avoid the .mp3 I should do so.

So there appears to be no obvious reason for the Store to throw up an error, though we have seen cases where some servers may not be responding properly to requests specifically from the Store, though they are OK with other requests.

However Robert Walch has reported that the Store sometimes glitches and throws up a false error. I would suggest waiting 24 hours and trying again as the first step. Perhaps it was weekend blues.

I'll have a look into changing the folder names tomorrow. Most likely something to do with when I set up the episode in the internet archive.

    thanks for your help!

Well it would appear that servers also have weekend blues, because I tried again like you told me to and it worked. There was no need to even change the folders

    Thanks
