It should tell you, as the buyer, on your receipt.   If it was bought from Apple, ask in the store what model their receipt relates to.   At the same time you could ask about a matching case.       I suppose the same applies wherever you bought it.

The S/N is located on the back/bottom of the iPad. Or get the Model # and look at this link. You may need a magnifier to read this info.
