Hey Vlad why does trackpad and powerplan stop working out of nowhere and demands update when there's nothing new to update?

A while back that didnt happen at all.

edit: Nevermind, I just read the donationware thing. But it was a freeware before, right?

@V-l-a-d-i-m-i-r: thank you very much for creating this! Keep up the fantastic work. I've actually had registered just to say thank you! Trackpad++ is THE solution for us Macbook Pro owners. By the way the test mode fix did work for me, but only on the second attempt. Other than that, perfect driver and perfect support. Sent from 13" rMBP, Windows 8.1 64 bit, loaded with Trackpad++ and Power Plan

Do people really use pinch to zoom that much? I guess its a cool feature but I can't think of what I would use it for on the daily.

Now being able to disable 3 finger dragging and using 3 finger middle click is a whole different story. That would be a great addition (for the 2013 MBA).

Does this enable the multi-touch gestures to bring up the Charms bar and stuff in Win 8?

Hi Vladimir, I still prefer the 3-finger tap option / '2.3d configuration', as 3-finger middle clicking is by far the most common action I do with ANYTHING 3 or 4-finger on the trackpad. Closing tabs and taskbar windows hundreds of times a day with it! With 2.5, you haven't removed this configuration option outright have you?

I just don't see much point in 3-finger drag (I DID look into it, thought it was cool, but I'm already so adept at the manoeuvres I already do with clicking and dragging, especially combined with nimble (and often even FASTER [and more powerful]) keyboard tricks, that I didn't see how shifting to 3-finger dragging would improve my daily workflow in ANY way, TBH).

And pinch-to-zoom zoom sounds great ofc, and I'd like to try it out to see what it's like - but ya know, with the hands constantly hovering over the keyboard, the current Ctrl+scroll (up or down) is pretty convenient!

To do pinch-to-zoom you have to modify the shape of the hand a bit and do a manoeuvre (different from the simpler gesture of just scrolling) which, tbh, I feel requires more effort and is less comfortable for the fingers and hand than simple scrolling is. GOOD to have in case you're not at the keyboard to do the Ctrl+ modifier way, but boy since we've got that giant keyboard there (unlike a phone) I do feel the Ctrl+ scroll option is still actually superior!

So thanks, please let us know whether you will keep the option for 2.3d configuration (maybe give it a nicer name now, and I think it's worth keeping as an option for all the 3-finger 'middle click' die-hards like me and above), and interestingly, whether pinch-to-zoom can still be added to this 'alternative' configuration as well (maybe it can live alongside 3-finger middle click unlike 3-finger drag?). pinch-to-zoom still has a place by all means, I can see myself using it but not as my default, I'm quite sure.

Lastly, I wonder whether we would be able to just change the configuration on-the-fly from '3-finger drag' to '3-finger middle click' mode, in the ONE configuration option window (simplifying things yet satisfying both groups), would that be technically feasible?

    Thanks!

YES! 3 finger middle click would be awesome! Would completely eliminate the need for carrying a mouse with me.

Changing on the fly to 3 finger drag would make the whole thing more beautiful!

Or maybe set a 4 finger drag thing.

Anyways, if you can, please consider adding middle click that is holdable, so we can emulate a mouse. Very usefull for a bunch of 3d and engineering programs.

Vlad do you think it would be too difficult to add a "4 finger middle click drag"?

I believe your website it down Vladimir.  It keeps failing during the redirect on both IE and Firefox.  Do you know when it will be back up?  I love the driver and it's been months since I've actually loaded Windows on my Mac and right now I can't use my pad the way I want to!    I hope it's up an running soon!
