Q: Mac Pro not restarting

I've recently upgraded my RAM in a Mac Pro 1.1 to 16 GB. Since then I've had problems with

- Computer not rebooting from "Restart" in the File Menu.

- Not coming out of Sleep mode.

Any thoughts? Could it just be a matter of clearing dust from the modules or Daughter boards or and actuall RAM module problem?

Mac Pro, Mac OS X (10.7.4)

Hello Zoix,

I'd recommend removing the new memory and testing, as the new RAM may be the source of the issue.

Thanks for the reply, I have actually cranked up the fans, using SMC Fan Control (Freeware) to 1500 RPM kept an eye on the temps over the last few days and this seems to have done the trick. It was getting very hot in there up to 90C , now running at under 40C, CPUs just under 50C and the Northbrigde heat sink is also just under 50C.
