Q: iPad just stopped working; will not turn on

The same thing sorta happened to me but mine was stuck on an app and wouldn't turn off. All I could do was screenshots and turn up and down volume. I tried the 10 second thing and it turned it off and started again. Thank god I found this because I was freaking out so much haha :)

Last night my I Pad stopped working. I couldn't turn it off, then it went blank and shone like a bright light. I was heartbroken. Can't live without my I Pad. Came here this morming and like magic it is working again.  Thank you. Thank you. Thank you.

Honestly I was praying, typed into google "My ipad just stopped working", clicked on this link to find an instant solution and VOILA! ... when bad things happen again, I will first pray and then remember "HOME-ON, count to ten" and everything will be alright. It may just become my new disaster management mantra.

My ipad is 6 months old and really didn't expect this to happen. I also agree with ALDOFISH that it would be nice to know why this actually happened at all. But hold on, don't stress "Home-on, count to ten".... the world is a better place.

Thank you I happen to agree with SWII that having so many apps haning in the background does indicate that they are using System Memory or CPU cycles and shutting them down would not do any harm and it takes less than 10 secs to do so ask yourself is that really a waste of your time? If it prevents the Kernel panic and freezing it takes the same time to remedy that problem and this is I think a preventative measure.

I just had my ipad fritz out on me for no reason last night. I tried this thing like it is my baby. I've only owned it for 4 months. But after hitting the home key and power key and holding it for about 20 seconds it started working.

That is scary that it happened though. So I want to keep this updated so if anyone else has this happen they know this works.

This doesn't work for my ipad(16GB)

My iPad stopped working this afternoon I plugged it in to a charger and left to go shopping. When I came back it would not turn on its just a blank screen I tried holding down the home and power button and I plugged it up to the computer but nothing is working . I need help on this

My Ipad4 got empty battery charge last night and so I charged it. I checked after a few hours and still off.

This morning it was still shut down so I worried it might be broken.

Thank you so much for this iPad fix. Was using the iPad this AM with no problems. Closed it up and went on. Then when I came back to it, it was blank and would not turn on. I bought this in the U.S. last December and now I'm in another country.  I envisioned a long day of trying to sort this out, and maybe having to buy a new one. But the fix worked!  Thanks! Whew!

thank you was stressed out as i just got it back from the repair shop and thought it might have to go back.  my son will b very happy when he gets home from school

Not only was I upset regarding my IPAD2 but my wife was also.  She thought she had broken my IPAD and felt guilty.  She even offered to give me her IPAD4 and then I had a brainstorm (well a brain sprinkle). Check the Apple forum.  WORKING PERFECTLY.  Thanks Apple.
