What type of content, are you using a home theatre system.

Apple TVDo you get the problem if you use the TV for audio rather than your theatre system.

This adjusts the lag between the video and the audio.
Check you receiver for those audio lag settings.

Apple TVI'm not sure there is while you have the HDMI cable connected to the TV, if your receiver accepts HDMI you might find it resolves the problem or will allow you to resolve it by changing the timing for the audio video sync.
