Dec 9, 2013 7:39 AM in response to leighton28by Paul_31,See if it will restart in Safe Mode: restart holding down the Shift key until you see the grey progress bar. Once it's (hopefully) booted restart as normal from the Apple menu.
Failing that, see if any of the steps here help:

Dec 9, 2013 9:00 AM in response to leighton28by Paul_31,Will it now boot to the same point with a 'normal boot'? If so, it sounds like your done and it's ready to sell on and the new owner can set it up for themselves. I'm sure you plan to, but the grey install disks need to be passed on with the computer.

Dec 9, 2013 9:14 AM in response to leighton28by Paul_31,You could answer the question to take it to the next step but then not continue with the setup.
It looks like it's happy to boot in Safe Mode - will it get to the same point if you select the Apple menu top left corner and select restart? If it does, it sounds to me like it's working and ready to be set up by the new owner.

Dec 9, 2013 9:22 AM in response to Paul_31by leighton28,I installed OS x again earlier and then said congrats and then I had to restart it but it was showing the apple icon with the spinning process bar for quite some time, I had to manually turn it off because it went on for so long.
I'm out of the safe mode now which i pressed the restart button and now it is just showing me the same thing the apple logo and process bar

Dec 9, 2013 9:26 AM in response to leighton28by Paul_31,Maybe another erase and re-install will solve it.
I assume you did the install by booting from the DVD that came with the Mac, launched Disk Utility, erased the drive, quit Disk Utility and then re-installed the OS?

Dec 9, 2013 9:36 AM in response to Paul_31by leighton28,yes i did, is there a step by step guide to doing this because i have been struggling to do this for a few days now.
I have just restarted it again and I have held down the Alt key which has brought up the following 2 icons, 1 shows a Hard drive(Mac OS X install DVD) and the other is a Disc(Mac OS X Install DVD).
