Q: Why is Mountian Lion running so slowly?
I care for six Macs in commercial use (MiniMacs, MacBooks, Macbook Pros) and their performance is dropping off drastically.
Symptoms
Speed across all apps can suddenly drop to a crawl or even freeze and frquenbtly the dreaded beach-ball-of death runs for 20 - 30 seconds before disappearing. The app stays frozen for a further 10 secs and then frees up and operation returns to normal.
The problem began about 3 months ago. Three machines run Parallels 7 for supporting QuickBooks Pro on Windows 7 Pro and seem no more prone to the problem than the other machines.
Attempted Resolutions
All machines are well maintained with all topical updates. I've followed numerous "solutions" from disc checks, permissions, resetting PRAM & SMC etc. The symptoms occur wherever the computers are being used and regardless of the apps need for internet linking.
Can you help please? Or where can I get serious guidance and help to work through a diagnostic process.
Thank you.
