How do I have to setup iMac Maveriks and iPad mini 1if they doesn't see them...?

AirDrop can only be used with iPhone 5 or later, iPad 4, iPad Mini and iPod 5.

In fact as I wrote I have Ipad Mini and iMac... I switch the on but don't see each others (We are on the same Wi-FI)
