Dec 11, 2013 9:30 AM in response to john3cdpby almostfamous13,Hi. I just found this topic and would like to add an experience I've been having.
I was using a font that was definitely not included in OSX. When I previewed the book on any iPad, or in iBooks on any Mac, it looked fine.
My designer suggested a different font (also not a standard font in OSX), and now it looks fine previewing in iBooks on a Mac, but NOT on iPad. It's replacing it with Arial or something.
Has anyone had thi problem where it looks fine on a Mac but not on an iPad? I shoudl mention that the Macs I have test on do not have the font installed, so it seems that IBA is indeed embedding it.
Thanks,
Dustin

What's the name of that font?

Dec 11, 2013 10:03 AM in response to Tom Geweckeby almostfamous13,I've been doing testing with various OTFs and TTFs that are not standard OSX fonts, and it's hit and miss. Some have been working and some not. It's very strange.
Also, when I do a preview I can see the font I want up until the status bar fills up and the full prview is available. Then it reverts to Arial. Very annoying.
I understnad that Preview is not reliable so I have also exported and dragged into itunes, then synced with my ipad, and the fonts that don't work in Preview, also do not work with this method.

I was able to duplicate your experience, works in OS X (even though font is not installed), fails in iOS. Mystifying.
