Q: Find My Phone shows as offline after IOS7 update

My iphone 4 worked fine before the ios7 update, and now it shows as offline when I search using other apple devices (iphone 4S, ipads 3 and 4).

I have been through the points listed on Apple Support site (see

http://support.apple.com/kb/TS4006)

and all settings etc seem to be as they are meant to be.

Can any one offer any suggestions?

After re-reading this I thought it might be useful to add additional information as to what I have checked exactly. This includes:

    • Checked the date and time is correct
    • The iphone is connected to a wifi network (and also to a 3G network - tried locating with both and neither worked)
    • Rebooted the iphone
    • Location services are enabled and the FindMyPhone app swithed on within it.
    • I've uninstalled and reinstalled the app.

So, before IOS7 it worked fine but afterwards it isn't (even after checking all of the above).

    Ideas greatly appreciated

Have you also already tired to completely reconnect your device from "Find My iPhone". I mean that you turned the service off in "Settings > iCloud  > Find My iPhone" or that you even deleted your iCloud account from your device "Settings > iCloud > delete Account" and then add it back again.

(BTW: Uninstalling the "Find My iPhone" app does not help, because this app is only used for searching for a device, not for activating the service.)

    Thanks for that suggestion david.menzel

Hadn't tried deleting the account and setting up again...which I've now just done. Really that thought that might work as it sounded like a good idea ...but now the phone isn't showing at all in the device list!

I've checked settings and icolud and Find My IPhone is switched on (as it is in Privacy and location services). Tried logging on and off the icloud account (and the app) but to no avail. There's nothing I can find on the Apple Support pages that helps when a device isn't showing up on a list....so, back to asking if anyone has any suggstions to fix this new problem!?

If you just turned off "Find My iPhone", then deleted the iCloud account from your device and now add it back again and activated the service, it just you takes a little while unitl it shows up again.

That would also make sence, thanks david.menzel again.

However, I've waited the remainder of yesterday and overnight and the device is still not showing in the list on icloud. Am I doing something fundamentaly wrong or could there be an issue with the IOS7 update on an iphone 4 (given all was fine before the update)?
