Q: New Hard drive installed now what?

Hi there,

I hope someone can help!!

My hard drive went and I have installed a new one. I have managed to get as far as the mouse icon on the screen. If not the folder icon with a question mark flashing.

Now what? I cannot find the original installation discs. I cannot remember what was on it when I first got it in 2009

MacBook (13-inch Mid 2009), I don't know what system was on it

That's what you need. If you no longer have them contact Apple and explain that you require a replacement set. They will need your MacBook's serial number and payment for a nominal fee.

It's all been rubbed off the base of the macbook!
Is there another way?
