Have the same problem and it stopped about the same time. Tried everything, renaming, imap, change password readd email. Even the pop isn't working. Can't get it to work. Ended up downloading the Yahoo mail client just to check my email.

Same here. Started March 5th. I hadn't changed anything, and suddenly neither my Android phone nor my Android tablet could retrieve Yahoo mail - I got password errors. It's Yahoo's IMAP server, and I think Apple products also uses that server. If you can switch the settings to use the POP server, it will work but not anywhere as well as IMAP. I've tried to contact a live person at Yahoo to talk about this but can't figure out how. I'm a "Plus" email subscriber as well and cannot find any live support. The email support is useless - it doesn't sound like they have a clue about anything and I wouldn't be surprised if it was a computer anyway.
Hopefully this works itself out, but it's been 7 days now for me.

Think they fixed it!
Woke up this morning and suddenly i had mail. I just happened to re-enter my account yesterday and just saved it thinking i would try it again a some point. So re-add your account and wait 12 hours. My partner re-did his and it started working right away.
From another poster this is a yahoo response:
Some customers are unable to access their Yahoo! Mail account on a mobile device because of an "Invalid ID and Password" error.
To resolve this issue, you will need to remove your account entirely from the mobile device. Wait twelve hours before adding the account to the device again. Note: If you do not wait twelve hours, this issue will not be resolved.

Ditto here last week. Mine was out for over a week and I'm worried about future outages now after having gone through this. Hopefully they are able to react to the lousy ratings I have on their automated customer service survey.

Yahoo calendar is not working now. First syncing stopped (without error message). After deleting and readding the account, it keeps rejecting my password. Very disappointing performance on Yahoo's side again. I'm thinking about moving all my data to Google or to create my own server.

Here's what worked for me.
Yahoo email not being dowloaded to iPhone / iPad / IPod and a constantly spinning "busy" circle in the email client. Unable to delete the problem account on the iDevice and re-add it.
1. Deleted Yahoo email account from iPad, then tried to re-add it. Got the message "The IMAP server apple.imap.mail.yahoo.com doesn't support (null) authentication".
2. Added my Yahoo email account as an "Other" email account rather than selecting the "Yahoo" type. Apart from entering email address and password, it seemed to pick up all the relevant outbound and inbound server settings automatically
3. It stayed on a "verifying" screen for about 2 or 3 minutes before eventually displaying a message something like: "....can't verify the identity of the server" (or something like that) with an options to cancel or continue.
4. Select "continue" and the email account is then quickly added. It worked fine.
5. Now go back to email settings and set up a new "Yahoo" type account, as you had tried to do in Step. It worked fine just by entering email address and password.
6. Now you can delete the "Other" account that you set up as a workaround.
Rogers were no help because it was a iOS device, Apple were no help because it was an email probem with Yahoo and I simply couldn't find any way to phone Yahoo.
Good luck, I hope this works for anyone who has the same problem.

Hello every one having this issue,
in the past three days I've tried every possible suggestion to fix this issue, but it didn't work because these fixes are outdated.
The problem started 3 days ago most likley when yahoo adapted the secure (SSL) connection, or at least that's what I had, anyway, the only thing got it to work was CHANGING YOUR EXTERNAL IP ADDRESS and this is how it can be done:-
Most of the internet servises provided to residentials and businesses are "Dynamic IP" which means every time you restart your "INTERNET ROUTER" (the one comes from the internet company) it will use different external ip address. all you have to do is to disconnect the power from the device for 10-15 minutes then re-connect it.
1- go to your iphone Settengs>>Mail, Contact, Calender>>select your yahoo account>> Delete Account.
2- disconnect the power from your Internet router for 15 min then re-connect it.
3- add your yahoo account again.

How do I reset the incoming server? I can't even get that anywhere on a screen.
