I think you're confused about how Apple IDs work on iDevices. You can use different Apple ID's on a single device too. One for iTunes & App Store and another for Messages, iCloud, Facetime and others. Therefore, you can use a single Apple ID on both devices for purchases and different Apple IDs for the other services.

I assure you I understand all that perfectly well. When did I say you couldn't do that? My "wrong" posts were a matter of the original post being ambiguous and my misinterpreting it. I feel like you're just trying to call me out as being wrong now...

Um, no ffiti. Even rereading it now, I don't think my post could have been interpreted the way you did, but maybe I'm wrong.
Once you're around a bit longer you'll find there is very little cross-talk between support posters - but when we make mistakes (and we all do) someone WILL point it out so that it doesn't cloud the post and confuse those who need the help. When that happens we take is graciously, learn from it, and use that new knowledge in helping others in the future.
