Dec 14, 2013 3:08 PM in response to barbarafrommariettaby Jan Hedlund,Please note that there were different eMac editions (see, for example, the page below and its eMac section).
http://lowendmac.com/imacs/index.shtml
Whether a USB Wi-Fi adapter would work with a certain eMac depends upon the driver software. Always check the exact system requirements for the adapter before you buy. Which operating system is installed on the eMac?
Alternatively, the computer can be equipped with an internal AirPort (the oldest eMac) or AirPort Extreme (the newer editions) card. However, these may be difficult to find, and they have some limitations.
Another alternative could be a wireless Ethernet bridge (also known as a gaming or media adapter) connected to the Ethernet port of the computer. Such devices are available from a number of manufacturers (examples include Netgear WNCE2001 and Linksys WET610N). Normally, special driver software is not needed (this means that a wireless Ethernet bridge can be used with almost all Ethernet-capable devices, under almost any operating system). Typically, the setup can be carried out via a standard web browser.

Dec 14, 2013 8:31 PM in response to Jan Hedlundby Jeff Kelleher,Fair point. The adapter I've recommended will work on 10.4 and 10.5 on an eMac.Using 10.3 or earlier would be tough going anyway as available browsers may be frustrating to use.
