    Well, depending on what you were doing when it occurred. If the phone has a sufficient charge, try holding the sleep/wake and home buttons together until you see the Apple logo and then release. The phone should reboot. If this does not happen right away, then connect the phone to the charger, wait 30 minutes, see if it starts on its own, if not try the reset I just described while the phone is still connected to power.
