If you don't see it in the bottom left of your iMovie window under Content Library, then you might have it hidden. Go to WINDOW | SHOW LIBRARIES. It should now be there.

Alternatively, you can go to WINDOW | CONTENT LIBRARY | MAPS & BACKGROUND.

    Hope this helps!

    Hallo FrankVB,

Ik heb eerder hetzelfde probleem gesignaleerd. Ook bij mij zijn de kaarten en aardbollen onvindbaar in iMovie 10!! Ik denk ook dat het een bug is. We moeten blijven zeuren.

Yes, it has been reported elsewhere in this thread that maps and some other items are missing in some non-English localisations (Dutch & Spanish for example).   See:   https://discussions.apple.com/thread/5483056

Obviously an oversight by Apple.  You will get them if you change language (temporarily) to english in system preferences

The maps are indeed available in the English version of iMovie (and in the German version too) but not in the Dutch version! As you write: "Obviously an oversight by Apple". In Holland we call such an oversight a bug. In hope it will be corrected in the next update of iMovie. Anyway many thanks for your help.

I agree it is a bug (I'm in the Netherlands too as it happens) and it should be easily correctable.

In case there is a misunderstanding -  I am not an Apple representative - this is a user's forum and I'm a user just the same as you.  We are just trying to help each other out.  It's possible to report a bug to Apple at:
