Final cut 7 & and all other supported studio apps (compressor, dvdstudio pro etc...) started  to ask for serial # out of the blue.  and when I enter the serial # it rejects it.  I originally bought FCP 5 and have purchassed two upgrades.  I have the studio HD serial number,  but don't have FCP7 install discs anymore (lost in move).

I am confident serial number is good because it was an official re-issue from Apple.  Customer service sent me an email with a new # after a harddrive replacement.

Has this happened to anyone else out there?  any ideas?

If I remember correctly, you need to first enter the original serial number and then the installer will ask for the latest (I think)  upgrade serial number.

Make sure you're entering the numbers and letters correctly.  I think they're in series of 3 characters each set is either all numbers or all letters.
