This should be the last iTunes version supported in Leopard.

This may mean if that G5 is running Tiger 10.4.11 you will be shopping around, perhaps high and low, for a retail upgrade DVD of Leopard OS X 10.5.x, so the iMac G5 can get & use later versions of important software, to include a few good third-party browsers, and maybe a newer (yet old) version of Flash player.

With a minimal level of support to the hardware, any upgrade still available should be sought. However the hardware will not support recent enough upgrades to use a modern iPhone, iPod, or iPad in the PPC G5.

Hopefully for the sake of other reference, the computer came with the original system install-restore disc set because there are items in those discs that you could find a need for even if the system on them is outdated.

    Good luck & happy computing!
