Q: my iMac running osx lion 10.7.5 locked up i am repairing disc permissions in safe mode.  Anything else i should do??

my imac running osx lion 10.7.5 locked up.  I am repairing disc permissions in safe mode now.  Is there anything else i can or should do.

If the problem persists, you could boot into the Recovery HD and run Disk Utility to check whether the HD has any problems that need fixing. Restart holding down Command+r, select Disk Utility>Macintosh HD>Repair Disk. If anything gets altered/fixed click on Repair Disk until you get a clean pass and restart as normal from the Apple menu.

Ensure you have backup to restore from should the problem recur and require more drastic measures to resolve.
