Notes not syncing

Hello,

 

I am using an Exchange account (@syr.edu) account on my Mail, Contacts, Calenders on my iPhone 5. The notes were syncing fine from the iPhone to the cloud and down to the Macbook Pro. Now on my computer the Notes app says that the "Notes can't connect to the account 'Exchange'" I would like to know if the issue the email that I am using is causing this or is there an internal issue with the apple server.
