Nov 25, 2013 8:45 PM in response to MiataMike1by a_user_name,I addressed it. I bought the new Samsung Notes 10.1 2014. It doesn't have any of the video app problems. I can't believe Apple won't fix this issue. We shouldn't have to beg to be able to watch videos on our iOS 7 devices. Watching movies is one of the things I used to do with my mobile devices.

Nov 25, 2013 10:57 PM in response to a_user_nameby David Shanahan,You don't have to buy another device, why not simply use one of the many other iOS video apps that you can find in the App Store? The issue with Apple's Videos app is unfortunate, and it's frustrating that Apple don't seem to be improving it but are instead making it worse in some respects, but it's not like there are no alternative apps, there are plenty in fact, several of them free too.
The main problem with the alternative video apps is they don't work with iTunes Home Sharing, but then many people don't seem to use that facility and are looking for a video app that works mainly or exclusively with videos that are stored on the iPad or iPhone itself, so it's not really an issue for them. And there are several video apps that can stream videos from other networks and webservers, etc. so it's not an insurmountable issue.
It's one thing to point out the flaws in Apple's Videos app and hope for improvements, it's another thing altogether to pretend that they make watching videos on iOS devices impossible. That's certainly not the case at all.

Nov 26, 2013 3:50 AM in response to MiataMike1by Jeroenboo,Hello all,
I think I have found the solution.mat least it works for me. After fiddling around it appears that if you set your movies to 'music video's', the video titles do appear on your iDevice.
On your iDevice click on shared to 'pick up' your iTunes library. The click on music videos and all your movies including their titles appear.

Thanks..... I did what you suggested and it WORKED !!!
The only slight inconvenience is all my 1,300 movies are in with my 12 Music Videos. But... music videos have the title AND the artists nme so you can visually tell the difference.
I hope Apple is monitoring these feedback posts and is going to fix the problem.

An Update on my last post. After doing what Jeroenboo suggested,
I CAN see titles on my iPads ( we have 2 ) BUT.... We have 4 AppleTvs and now they see no movies only Music. The movies are now intermixed with "Music" "videos".
And a side note once you make all your movies Music Videos it is a pain seperating them back out to switch them back out.
Note: I have over 1,300 movies.
Some idiot programmer screwed up the "Video" app in IOS7 and it is low or not even on the list of things to fix.

Nov 27, 2013 6:42 PM in response to MiataMike1by acrophilia,I'm sensing a pattern in the post-Jobs Apple....
Mavericks audio performance messed up. (check the forums)
Simple apps messed up.
Is anyone at Apple paying attention to quality in new releases?
No. I'm not ready to switch to Samsung. Not yet.

Nov 30, 2013 12:55 PM in response to MiataMike1by Donfone,I found an EASY SOLUTION to this problem. 30 movies took me about five minutes to do.
IOS 7 will only put the names of the Home Movies under the movies, but not the other movies.
Simply go into your Itunes on your computer, right click on a movie, click GET INFO, go to options, under MEDIA KIND, change it to HOME MOVIE.
Do that to all your movies and they will be shifted to the HOME MOVIE section of iTunes.
And then when you upload them to your ipad or iphone, they will all have have the names underneath them.
You can do it individually, or you can select all the movies at once, right click on one of the movies, click GET INFO, go to OPTIONS, and under MEDIA KIND, change it to HOME MOVIE.
IT WILL TAKE A FEW MINUTES TO DO A LOT OF MOVIES, BUT JUST SIT BACK AND WAIT. I DID 30 MOVIES AT ONCE.
Then upload them to your iPhone or iPad through itunes as usual.

Nov 30, 2013 2:27 PM in response to Donfoneby wolfredic,This isn't a solution since chapter markers are lost this way. Apple has build **** (like a lot of stuff they did with software lately) and isn't fixing it.

Dec 23, 2013 8:19 AM in response to MiataMike1by Swampy Mike,Here's a workaround to show up film titles via home sharing on an iPad:
Highlight all videos, right click and open "Get Info".
Change Media Kind to "Music Video"
All the films disappear from the Films section, but are visible by going to Music, and clicking on Music Videos in the top bar.
All the titles appear in the Videos app on iPad os 7.
Not perfect, but workable.

Dec 23, 2013 9:39 AM in response to Swampy Mikeby workingcars,How many times does it have to be explained, this is NOT a workaround...!!!
You do NOT get chapters when doing this, and what about the people that have, like me, thousands of music videos, and 1200 films, and don;t even start on the TV series...
I want to be able to see what i have, i paid for it, but because i didn't pay APPLE they think it is ok for me to suffer...!!!
WRONG WRONG WRONG
and i am fed up of people suggesting the SAME workarounds, it is just not something that works and not what it was designed as... Especially when you have multiple macs sharing the same library and even more ipads using it for downloading from...!!!
I doid not spend in excess of £15,000 on equipemnet to be fed this **** as an answer, i expect Apple to address the issue and correct it...!!!
