Q: Keychain Wont Reset

Hi everyone,

I had an upgrade from Mavricks and upon completetion, the keychain began gaving me problems.

The password was incorrect regardless of what I put in (even though I didnt have problems before the update)

Ive tried to "reset" the keychain but once I enter my new login password it tells me its not authorized to do that. Everytime I login now I get popups saying "Safari wants to use "login" keychain" and I have to click cancel a few times and manually enter it in.

Is there a way for me to delete some sort of file to completely make me create brand new keychains?

Thanks

iMac, OS X Mavericks (10.9.1)

So my sister was having the exact same problems, what I did was first reset the default keychain, this can be done by going to preferences in the keychain access app, by doing this it should fix any problems with the login keychain, as for the Local Keychain, that one was a little complicated as I did not know how I fixed it

Try this (credit to Steve Singapore):

    1. Go to Finder

    2. Look for library in favourites.

    3. If not there hold down option key and click on GO in the top menu

    4. Scroll down to Library and click on it

    5. Look for Keychain folder and click on it.

    6. Inside Keychain folder is a single folder with random numbers and letters.

    7. Drag this folder onto your decktop.

    8. Re-boot and you should be good to go.

    9. If Ok drag the folder off your decktop  into trash !!
