Sadly, you best route is to buy new hardware and move one service at a time. What services are you running? That often defines how you approach the upgrade/migration.

We need to know more about your computer. Go to the apple in the upper left corner, then to More. Copy and paste the information you see there but omit serial number. Basically if you are running a PPC Mac that is frommm 2005 or earlier you cannot upgrade any further than OSX 10.5.8 which is itself very old. If you are running an Intel Mac you can upgrade to OSX 10.6 at least. You do that by purchasing a Snoiw Leopard disc from Apple online. Additional upgrades may be possible but the best answer lies in knowing more about your computer.
