    Sorry, old chap.

I don't think the package would tolerate having its database files moved or removed. If you want to try, certainly you'd want to copy that Library to another drive and rename it to indicate it's your experimental Library. You can remove the media, but all the Project info is in the files that would have no context if placed outside of the folders in which they were written.

Don't throw out the original Library. While unlikely, it is possible a future update would be able to open or repair it. Or someone could write a repair app of some sort.

I'd suggest getting AppleCare involved. Based on my conversations with them, the FCPX guys would like to know what happened during your upgrade.

    good luck!

Apple has posted a troubleshooting basics document:

    http://support.apple.com/kb/TS3893

Seems like a few steps you've already done, a few more possible.

    4. Make sure ProApps QT codecs are installed

    7. Does this Library work in another user account? Use a copy of the Library!!!

    10. Reset FCPX prefs- there are several prefs that could be affecting the app that need to be addressed individually.

    11. Remove and Reinstall FCPX

These are numbered by the steps in the above article, where the instruction are for doing each step.

    Good hunting!

PS Sorry about the "old chap" in a previous post, I had watched a bit of Monty Python and was using my british army general voice when I typed it. ::grin::
