Q: iPhone notes not syncing on macbook air

I can see the notes from the iCloud those on my iPhone on my iPhone but I can only see notes made in iCloud on my MacBook Air. Can anyone help? I have an iPhone 4

MacBook Air, Mac OS 9.1.x
