Q: Cant respond to Find my Friends request.

My family is using the Find my Fridsn app.  We had to redo the whole "sharing" and when we did, I asked to follow my wife.  She said yes and then asked to follow me.  The request then shows up in an email instead of in the app itself(like my request did in hers).  In the email it says to "view the request".  I click on it and instead of taking me to the FmF's app, it opens the iTunes store and wants me to download the app, which I already have!  No matter what I do it wont work though the app.  My son responded to my request and then his request DID show up in my app.  What's happening that hers is not?

Any ideas?
