Q: I didn't change password when it first appeared and I don't remember my PC password

I transferred my PC to my Mac but missed the step to change the password. Now to open the info I have to use my password for my old computer and I don't remember it

Boot into Recovery by holding down cmd-r when you hear the startup tone.

Once it boots into Recovery, Go to the Utilities menu and select Terminal.

Type resetpassword and hit Return key.

Follow the prompts to select the hard drive, then your user name.

    Reset the password.

Once done, quit out of the password reset utility and then restart from the Apple menu.

Once you've restarted and logged in, open Keychain Access.

Open Preferences from the Keychain Access menu.

On the General tab, click Reset my Default keychain.

That will reset the default keychain so that it uses the same password as your login.
