Q: MainStage 3: Relative Knob Assignments

I have the Arturia MINILAB and I'm mapping the knobs running into this problem:

If i set the knons to absolute on the MINILAB and in the map assignment, then they work fine.  however, i don't want to use absolute, i want to use relative becuase i can switch between patches etc and move the faders which i have them assigned to (the volume for the tracks) from where they are and not have them jump into position.

so when i set the MINILAB knobs to relative and map them to the knobs in Layout, they show up as absolute — even though the MIDI info coming in is relative.  i turn auto assign off and change the Type in Layout for the corresponding virtual knob to Relative(Sign Magitude) as this is th eone that works.  and it does work — but only in Layout mode.  the virtual knob moves perfectly with the physical knob.  however, in Edit mode it works in one direction only — like when i set it tothe Relative(Direction & Speed) mode.

so it works in Layout, but not in Edit or Perform.

this seems to me to be a bug where although i set it to Relative(Sign Magitude) in Layout it actually turns into Relative(Direction & Speed) in Edit/Perform.

ive tried all variations and can't get it to work..

ooops!  after i wrote that i DID find a variation to work..though i think there's still a bug.

here it is:

set MINILAB Knobs to Relative#2 (from 4 possibilies) and set Layout Knobs to Relative(2's Complement).   it now works.

i suspect that Arturia's Relative#1=MS Relative(Sign Magitude) and Relative#2=MS Relative(2's Complement).  even though Sign Magnitude doesn't work correctly in MS3, 2's Complement does.

(again, it works in Layout but not in Edit or Perform.  this is why i beleive it to be an error in MS and not a miscommuincation between MINILAB and MS3.)
