Time Capsule does not normally want to be used to store normal data or media files.

If you are using Mavericks, it can do some strange things that I cannot help with.

Please provide the exact steps that you are performing when you try to save a file.

Click on the Time Capsule icon under the SHARED heading in any Finder Window

That will reveal the Time Capsule disk....named "Data"....unless you have changed the name

    Double click on "Data"

(You may be asked for the Time Capsule administrator password)

That will mount the "Data" disk on the desktop

You can drag/drop files onto the "Data" icon or into the open window representing the drive

All bets are off if you are using Mavericks, as I do not have the courage to install it.
