Nov 15, 2013 10:38 AM in response to yaniqueby Nataliafromnsw,Hi, i hit the download button for this program this morning and then read the reviews here. I then went to my downloads and deleted it before i installed it on the computer and then i emptied my trash bin. Have I removed it completely ( i am new to apple computers). I am hoping since i didn't install it from my downloads i am safe.
Thanks for for your thoughts, Natalia

Mac OS XNatalia,
If you didn't install MacKeeper, but only downloaded and then trashed the installation file, you should be just fine.
Very good to have checked something out before - willy-nilly - installing it!

Nov 15, 2013 11:05 AM in response to yaniqueby Nataliafromnsw,Thanks Clinton, as i said I am only new to Apple and when the pop up showed on my screen I thought it was from apple itself. So glad I checked it out on this forum first. I am on a steep learning curve.

Nov 18, 2013 9:39 AM in response to clintonfrombirminghamby Steve McRea,Where I hear that a friend has bought a mac computer the first thing that I do is send them the link to this discussion and tell them to under no circumstanced download Mac Keeper!
BTW.. with all the negative press on the product how on earth is this company staying afloat?... There must be a lot of broken Mac's around from the poor folks who got sucked in!

Dec 3, 2013 4:54 PM in response to yaniqueby sway7,I downloaded mackeeper for my mackbook back in 2008 and i just upgraded to a mackbook air in 2013 and I am not planning on downloading mackeeper again for five reasons:
1. It overheats my MacBook
2. It slows down my MacBook
3. It pops up ads at randomly
4. It DRAINS MY BATTERY!!!
5. It's FAKE!
I am a newbie to this discussion forum but I am not a noob at OSX

Dec 31, 2013 7:37 AM in response to ferreirexby Klaus1,Do not install MacKeeper (and how to uninstall it if you have):
https://discussions.apple.com/docs/DOC-6221
(Please note that references to the original developers, Zeobit, also now refer to Kromtech Alliance Corp, who acquired MacKeeper and PCKeeper from ZeoBit LLC in early 2013.)

Dec 31, 2013 7:42 AM in response to ferreirexby OGELTHORPE,ferreirex, greetings; Do you hate your MBP so much that you want to ruin it by installing Mackeeper? I would urge you not to. The final decision is certainly yours.
Ciao.
