I've read Google no longer supports exachange accounts.  When I migrated from my iPhone 4 (ios 7.0.4) to a new iPhone 5s (ios 7.0.4) my Gmail exchange accounts on the native iPhone Mail app no longer work.  Anger.

I tried to create a Google email account, but get the message I noted above, "Notes are already installed" and I cannot go farther.  More anger.

It doesn't look like I can have an exchange acct without paying for it.

I do have the Gmail app which works, but when I try to send pictures or videos from my phone, the email address I'm trying to turn into a Google email (but am not allowed because "Notes are already installed")  doesn't show up on the list to send from.

How do I tell where my notes are and move them somewhere else?  iCloud?

How do I get the resident iphone mail app to point at the Gmail app by default?

iPhone 5s, iOS 7.0.4, Windows 7 Professional
