I was having the same issue with my Apple bluetooth keyboard and iPad mini.

After reading many of the posts this is what finally worked.

-I deleted the keyboard from the bluetooth list.

-Restarted iPad mini by pressing home and power key together till white apple logo appeared

-Went back to bluetooth settings, and turned bluetooth on

-I kept pressing the power button on the keyboard to keep the green light on as much as possible.  Sometimes the ipad would see it, sometimes it would not.  Several times it would see it, but when I would press on it on the bluetooth list in the settings, I would get a message that it is not paired, but would not give me a pairing code to do the pairing.  After repeating this for several minutes, FINALLY i was given a pairing code and it is now working!

It was very frustrating, but I want to thank all who posted here.  Your ideas and successes kept me working at it until I too had bluetooth connection success as well.

I agree, this should NOT be so much work!

    Thanks for the link!

I'd tried all other suggested solutions, but none worked. I did as you mentioned, and held the power key down the entire time. Awkward, but it worked great; and was able to pair my Apple wireless keyboard on both my iPad Air and iPhone 5.

    Awesome!

Having an issue with my belkin ultimate keyboard not being found by my iPad 4th gen, with iOS7, it was fine with iOS6.x but every since I update to 7 is not finding it at all.

I have restore my iPad twice, and my keyboard has been fully charged for over 4 hours,

Is this an iOS issue or is it something belkin should fix with their hardware or software (drivers) or something else?

    Any ideas?

Again my iPad does not find the keyboard, it finds any other Bluetooth device fine but not my belkin ultimate keyboard,

    Thanks for the help,

My iPad won't connect to my iPad in IOS 7. Tried reboot, deleted device and tried to re-pair it  no luck. Have you found a fix yet?

Under IOS7 my iPad FINDS my device but won't pair with it. After finding the device ian error message says "be sure the device is on and within range". How stupid is that when it just FOUND the device?

I find that holding the power button on the rhs of the keyboard, and connecting in Bluetooth works every time.

I am seeing the exact same issue as the original poster, except I have an iPad Air, and an Apple bluetooth keyboard.  The keyboard pairs and works just fine in most applications, but for a few, it refuses to work properly.  When I atempt to connect to the "guest wifi" network at work, it pops up a login window, and the bluetooth keyboard will not work in that window, I am forced to turn the keyboard off and use the on-screen keyboard.  Once connected, I can turn the bluetooth keyboard back on and use it t type emails, type in pages & numbers, even enter my password to unlock the iPad, I just can enter the wifi username or password.  I have also noticed that it does exactly the same thing if I try to go into the Cellular properties in the Settings and check my account.  It pops-up a login window there and I can't use the bluetooth keyboard there either.  It is very annoying that only for these pop-upauthentication windows I am forced to turn the bluetooth keyboard off and manually use the on-screen keyboard to login.  Once the login window is closed, the keyboard works properly.

One time I thought I could see the keyboard sending the letters I was typing to the windows under teh login pop-up windows, but I haven't been able to verify this a second time.  I suspect this is an iOS issue where the bluetooth keyboard focus is not moved to the pop-up window even though it should be.

    This worked for me!!!!!

    Picnic,

I had the exact same issue. I found a solution here (I hope these boards let my post hyperlinks) http://www.tonyjworld.com/2012/03/resetting-my-apple-bluetooth-wireless-keyboard -to-work/

Not sure if the hyperlink will show up, but basically to solve the problem, you have to keep the power button on the keyboard pushed in the entire time you are connecting the apple keyboard to the iPad. Seems kind of quirky & I don't know enough about bluetooth to know why it works, but it worked for me.

Great Joy!!! This worked. Thank you sooooo much. I have just unfortunately upgraded to IOS7 and have been regretting it all day!

I also had problems. I had to use three fingers to scroll and triple click to open and type. Turns out it was set for a different display. To fix all I had to do was click the home button three times in a row to reset it. Quick easy fix and it worked.

I don't know if you're still having a problem with your Belkin keyboard, but if you are, this might help: http://www.belkin.com/us/support-article?articleNum=8222

To make your keyboard discoverable, you'll need to hit the function and pair keys at the same time.  The function key is in the bottom left and the pair key is at the top right by the delete key.  Once you do this, it should be discoverable.

    Hope this helps,

I also found that LadyLuck1111's solution works.

Again, on the Belkin Keyboard, there is a "Pair" Function Key (<>) that must be manually invoked using the (Fn) Function Key. When in doubt, read the **** product manual — and/or (in this case) Belkin's Tech Support documents. That said, Belkin's own Tech Support staff didn't even think to suggest this — they just shipped us a replacement Ultimate Keyboard and issued a return RMA for the original.

Apple Tech Support did suggest trying this. The Apple Tech I spoke with thinks that Belkin probably needs to issue a frimware update for the keyboard that restores the automatic pairing functionality with iOS 7.0.4. I don't know which version of iOS 7 broke this compatibility — but I think automated Bluetooth pairing MAY HAVE worked properly through iOS 7.0.2.

I have an apple bluetooth keyboard and it stopped working the second I upgraded to IOS 7.

The previous post recommending http://www.tonyjworld.com/2012/03/resetting-my-apple-bluetooth-wireless-keyboard -to-work/  worked for me.  Turn on the keyboard and hold power button while pairing.

I also have a Belkin ultimate keyboard, and I have found that it causes a problem when streaming through the Netflix app to a Google Chromecast. As long as the keyboard is OFF, the connection to the Chromecast stays up. When the keyboard is ON, the iPad eventually will lose track of the Chromecast, and I have to do the following to re-establish control of the Chromecast:

    1. kill the Netflix process.

    2. turn off wifi.

    3. turn on wifi and reconnect to the network the Chromecast is on.

    4. restart the Netflix process.

That works every time, but it is a PITA.

I discovered that the Belkin is on all the time when the iPad is sitting up. It does not turn off after a timeout, and the battery is drained in about the same time as the iPad's (not the 3 months that Belkin brags about). So I started using the iPad more without the keyboard turned on, and that's when I found out the Chromecast connection stayed up.

The obvious lesson is, Bluetooth and wifi do not play nicely together in IOS 7.0.4. This needs a fix from

    Apple.

My r, t, f, g, v and b keys stopped working on the Zagg keyboard with ipad mini.  Looking for a solution here I did everything like restarting, unpairing, etc. and nothing helped. The FN key was mentioned in a few posts.  Guess what?  I hit the fn key and the letters worked again.  I must have accidently hit it while typing.
