Running Migration Assistant to bring over the app is problematic at best as there are LOTS of files scattered around the system that MA will not find.
FCP 6 will run (so rumours say) but the installer is PowerPC based. What this means is prior to OSX 10.8 you could rely on Rosetta to run the install. Now that Rosetta is gone, you'll need to follow alternative processes.
You can either install Rosetta or use Terminal to do the unpacking and get the install going.
Go a search on this forum. There are lots of threads about how to do this.
Keep in mind FCP 6 was last officially supported under OSX 10.5 or 6 so you are totally on your own and there are no guarantees any of this will work.

It is a common myth that the installer of FCP 6 is a PowerPC program. As established by the later research of Jeremy Johnstone and published on his blog, it has a "bug" that triggers the PowerPC dialog box, with a similar result. Once installed, it runs properly without Rosetta.
