Q: iPad mini

We have a new iPad mini. It has a 13.5 GB capacity. Version 7.0.4. All my iPhone photos are on in when we set it up. We don't want them on there. It's not been synced to a computer yet. We are trying to put free games on the mini and it's telling us there's not enough space available. Yet the iPad is brand new. We share one Apple ID for this iPad as well as 2 iPhones. We want the iPad to be its own thing. Not have all my photos on it & be able to download more than 8 apps!!! The iPad says there's not enough space available for some apps but not for others. The only thing on the iPad we want off are all the photos that are taken on the iPhone. And the photos are only from one iPhone. I took several pics with my iPhone but somehow they are appearing on the iPad as well.

On the new iPad go to Settings>iCloud>Photos>My Photo Stream>Off. You will be asked if you want to delete the photos on your iPad. Say yes to that.

I believe I figured out the photo problem. Thank you. But what about the problem with putting apps in a brand new iPad mini and being told there's not sufficient room after only putting 8-10 apps already on there? Is the iPad 'reading' info from my iPhone as well and between the 2, it's telling us not enough room? The apps are simple free games for our children. There should be more room than just for 8-10 apps.

Did you delete all of the photos? If you did, have you restarted or reset the iPad to try and correct the storage reading?

Did you look in Settings>General>Usage>Storage to see what is showing in there as taking up all of the storage capacity on your iPad?
