Q: My MacBook is hanging, what should I do?

My MacBook Pro suddenly had a noise coming from it and when I closed and opened it again, it froze at the username screen and it's still hanging now. What should I do? Btw it's only around a year old.

Shut it down by holding the power key for 10+ seconds.

Then perform SMC and PRAM resets.

I tried those but none of it worked, when I shut down and switched it on again, a file with a question mark icon was flashing repeatedly on the screen.

That indicates that the MBP cannot locate an OSX. Either the HDD is faulty or the connection is. Start with this trouble shooting guise.

After I did it, my Mac just shut down and I switched it on again but it offed by itself...

After I did the alt/option key down to solve the question mark issue. So after that it just shut down and after switching it on again the apple logo just appears and it shuts down again.
