Yes, but your neat new Mac mini does not come with a camera.   The cameras in the Apple Thunderbolt and LED Cinema Displays will work perfectly with your mini.

If you use a different display, consider an external camera like one of those listed in Mac Compatible Web Cameras.

I just set up my Mac Mini 2012  2.3 GHZ i7

Wanting to use Facetime, I connected an external iSight camera via a 800-400 firewire cable.

    So far so good.

But when I open Faceime, the image sent jerks and breaks up.

When I use Skype, this is less of an issue.

    FYI

I was trying to chat with my laptop in another room, which is also using an iSight external camera.

This sometimes gave me the message, "Camera in use with another application. When I used the laptop's built in iSight camera - that worked.

I know there are various interferance issues, particulalrly with the Mac Mini and USB 3.0's effect on Bluetooth reception, so I am on dodgy ground here.

    Thanks.
