Q: Can I startup in Mac OS 9 without logging into my computer's account?

I have an iMac G3 with Mac OS 10.3.9. I want to start it up in Mac OS 9 but there is a problem. It has a password but I can't remember it. Is there a way that I can start it up in Mac OS 9 without having to log into the account?

Press the Option key at startup and choose the Mac OS 9 system. If it doesn't show up, click here and follow the instructions.

Ok, thanks.
I don't know if this can happen too, a friend told me that he started up his Mac in safe mode which allowed him to reset the password since he couldn't remember it. .
