    Hi AlanGeorge111,

Thanks for using Apple Support Communities.  This article has some steps you can take if you're unable to accept or send friend requests:

I have looked at the Apple troubleshooting for Find My Friends and I do not see the answer to "Find My Friends is unavailable due to a server error." I recently downloaded FMF and this is the response I get when I try to add a friend or to accept a friend. I am using an iPhone 5 with iOS 7.1.1. My husband has a new iPhone 5s and downloaded the FMF app and had no problem sending me a request. We are on the same network. I have been using an iPhone since they first came out at AT&T. I now have a Verizon phone. AlanGeorge111 and I are not the only ones who have had this problem. If there is a work around or another solution would you please point us to the specific place where we can find it. Thank you. I have been searching the web and Apple discussions for a couple of weeks on and off and have not found anything that solves the problem. Thanks for your help.
