Jan 8, 2014 11:24 AMby danorton2014,Your email address is your “Apple ID”, which is the same ID used for all Apple services, including iCloud, iTunes, Apple Store, iChat, &c., so to change your email address is to change your Apple ID. (There is no need to create a new Apple ID, and doing so will abandon all your stored settings and registrations with the old ID.)

If that’s the case, when you log in to manage your Apple ID, you will be prompted to ”Make your Apple ID and primary email address one and the same.” Unless you have a good reason not to, I urge you to do that.
