Q: How to change iCloud email address?

I entered a test address when setting up iCloud, but now cannot find out how to change this to the email I would like with the @me.com ending. Any ideas?

So, what happens when you no longer have the old PW?  I changed my Apple ID and PW after I moved, then later and after many PW changes trying to get everything updated, I have no idea what old pw went with my old email.  Is there nowhere in settings or on Apple where I can go and update all my apps???? Yes, I'm very frustrated!

Sorry, the bottom line is, I don't have the old pw so I can't delete the icloud to even try to put a new one in.

Thank you ! Je44ery for putting the issue so eloquently ! I have been forced to wade through all this crap "it works" responses ! All because some over paid person decided that if the Apple corp were not going to budget for intelligent design plus a team responding to customer demands for info on how to stick handle their way through this mine field

Of sloppy design! I presume that the wage rate has risen a few rupees since the good old days? I am surprised that Mr

Snowden's old employers have not demanded a quick fix to this problem as like me thousands of potential users have been thwarted in their desire to obtain info, products, services etc, thus diminishing their intelligence gathering capability

Thus opening up the possibility of a funding cut! The near crash and burn of "Obama care" the personal baby of the most powerful person on the planet! Should have been a wake up call ! Please some one mail me correct solution to this silly problem . Thanks.

    Hi it\'s Easy,

If you are trying to delete an iCloud account that has your previous Apple ID, here's what you need to do:

    1.     Go to Manage your Apple ID and change your Apple ID back to the old ID (this is temporary - don't panic). You do not have to worry about verifying whatever ID you put in there becuase it is not permanent

    2.     Go to Settings>iCloud and scroll to the bottom and click on the Delete option. When it asks for your password in order to turn off Find My iPhone, type in your current password

    3.     Once the account is deleted, go back to Manage your Apple ID and change your Apple ID back to your current Apple ID

    4.     Go back to Settings>iCloud and sign onto iCloud with your current Apple ID

    Cheers,

You don't need your old password, if all you are trying to do is to delete an iCloud account that has an Apple ID that has been changed to something new. Follow my instructions in the post above.

OK, I was overwrought at the time I posted that - one more reason to attend to my wife's admonition to wait 24 hours before I email anything.

iCloud.com does show promise and I do use it. But the email thing is still kind of annoying.

This is what I need help with as well.  Terrific that it has you change your account- but what if it was changed by mistake, as is the case with me- and you want it changed back?

I wanted my daughter to have her own icloud account.  Now she took my account and attached her email to it. I can't get my email account back.  When I did, it created a whole new iCloud account with basic capabilities.

    FRUSTRATING.
