Q: Something's off with my update
Hello dear FCPX community,
I installed FCPX on my new macbook pro the other day and tried updating it today through the app store. Apparently, it updated everything that needed to be updated (the new sound library, the codec thing, and a bunch of other stuff) in 2 seconds after a reboot (it asked me to reboot immediately when hitting the update button). Right now I have internet through 3G which means it can't have downloaded everything in a few seconds. The app store says "no updates available" now.
Inside of FCPX, I don't get the options under preferences to switch between proxy media and original media. Also, my timelines aren't available from the button I've been getting used to down at the very left portion of the program. Instead, it seems to have created a keyword collection with timelines?
I suspect I have an old version of FCPX but I'm not sure what's going on. Does anyone have any experience with this that you would like to share?
Thanks a lot in advance.
Best,
Chris
PS. In the screenshot below you can see that I can't switch between proxy and original media, and also in the bottom left corner the icon is missing that usually takes me to my timelines?

There are quite a few changes in FCP X 10.1 from 10.0.9. The Projects Reel at the bottom left of the screen is one, and it is now gone in 10.1.
Here is what's different:

It's wise to understand the impact of the changes when updating to the new version as outlined in the Media Management PDF.
