Hi Stan, it doesn't appear so, it requires 10.8.4 or later, which yours doesn't seem to support...

    Minimum System Requirements

    • 4GB of RAM
    • Display with 1280-by-768 resolution or higher
    • OS X v10.8.4 or later
    • Requires 64-bit Audio Units plug-ins
    • Minimum 5GB of disk space. 35GB of optional content available via in-app download.

Last 2006 iMac I find can only use 10.7.5 32 bit...

    X 10.4.7 (8K1123)X 10.7.5*

Thanks so much for your time and expertese. I thought that was the case, so, it feels good to have the conformation.

My next question started after I'd installed Pro Tools 8.5 and recorded a dozen or so songs. Decided it wasn't the program for me, deleted everything ( related to PT ) and continued with Garageband.

Which was the reason for my orininal question about the Logic Pro X.

I have another question, it I could impose?

After I wake my imac ( from late 2006 ), from sleep mode:

    1.  I can not get a sound from my itunes library. It show it's playing in the time line, but no sound.

After a restart, sound is back.

    2. Also, after restarting, sometimes, my wifi says, "no hardware installed.

Again, after a restart ( sometimes two restarts ), wifi will show up and already turned on.

    3. And finally:

I record original music, on Garageband, and use a Presonus Firestudio project audio interface.

Again, after waking the imac, I don't get a sound through the Presonus and it dosen't show under the "system preference" - "sound icon". Output or Input. It's as if it's not installed.

Again, after a restart, it will show there and actually play everything.

I've adjusted the sleep time, it has not helped.

Now after adjusting, I'm confused between the

"display sleep" and the disk sleep?

Cause I've adjusted both and no help.

Can you set me in the right direction?

    Thanks in advance,

    Stan

    Hi again,

Tough to tell what the problem(s) may be, sounds a bit like a Hardware issue looming, but not enough to go on.

    Long shot, but...

Open Audio Midi Setup in Applications>Utilities, see the input & output options & KHz setting there, some things will change it for their own use, then not set it back.

    On the Wifi issue...

Make a New Location, Using network locations in Mac OS X ...

    http://support.apple.com/kb/HT2712

    10.5, 10.6, 10.7 & 10.8…

System Preferences>Network, top of window>Locations>Edit Locations, little plus icon, give it a name.

    10.5.x/10.6.x/10.7.x/10.8.x instructions...

System Preferences>Network, click on the little gear at the bottom next to the + & - icons, (unlock lock first if locked), choose Set Service Order.

The interface that connects to the Internet should be dragged to the top of the list.

    If using Wifi/Airport...

Instead of joining your Network from the list, click the WiFi icon at the top, and click join other network. Fill in everything as needed.
