Jan 13, 2014 8:23 AM in response to AnotherGalaxyby Studio X,Not trying to be a smart-alek but, have you tried to do this?
If so, what happened?
I just tried a simple test and the effects go with the Track, not the clip. This means, you should be able to do what you want.
Best,

Jan 13, 2014 8:49 AM in response to Studio Xby AnotherGalaxy,Didnt know how to remove the original clip from the STP arrange window - or whatever it's called in STPro. So I could go no further in my perverse science experiment.
It also appeared that I could only import an aif but not a wav?
I gave up on STPro and did what I needed to do in Logic, which I use regularly.
Thank you for folowing up on this.
PS. I used to use an old PowerPC version (1.0.3) of STPro and loved the way it visually showed the change in the waveform when you added each efffect. It appears that the new version (3.0.1) does not allow you to do this anymore? You can render or flatten the effects to see the final waveform, but then you are dead in the water and cant make changes?
Im such a newbie at STPro that I am probably not using it right?

Jan 13, 2014 9:40 AM in response to AnotherGalaxyby Studio X,In multi-track editor, I dragged a clip out of a track and pushed the new on into it. The effect stayed with the original track.
You may not be able to mix and match formats within a MTE.
If nothing else, you could just convert the format to what works.
Glad to hear you found a workaround.

Jan 13, 2014 10:05 AM in response to Studio Xby AnotherGalaxy,Ah... now I undersatnd.
I was using the Audio File edit mode - not the multitrack editor. Thus the confusion on how to remove and insert new audio files. And why you used the word "Track". (Audo file mode only shows one stereo mix)
The visual of the waveform is also an audio file view - not a multi-track view.
My apologies for being unclear about Audio File vs Multi-Track editing.
Thanks!
