Jan 13, 2014 3:12 PM in response to anthony81lby BiggusDikkus,Thanks Anthony.
As I stated earler, the manufacturer said no firmware/drivers for Mac, just plug and play.
And the unit is one of their new models.
I guess this took them by surprise like it did many others.
I'm stirring that pot now.
I'll return with any updates.
Good thing I didn't prematurely sell my trusty old 2009 MBP.

Jan 13, 2014 4:30 PM in response to petermac87by Luuk Degen,Here's my two pennies on the subject:
I, and all experienced pro's, know that new technology always leads to unforseen issues.
If you are professionally depending on your Mac (or any other tool), you will only make the transition to a newer version after thorough investigation and testing.
So, I can live with the audio issues caused by combining a new OS version, a new and promising storage method (fusion), new USB versions and the like.
What irritates me is that Apple leaves us, a very loyal community, totally in the dark. We cannot do anything else than relying on rumours, whispered secrets, individual engineer opinions and smart fellow-users, helping us with workarounds.
It's about time Apple realizes that issues like this are not threats, but opportunities to show they care. It's so simple: Apple, F%##}£¥? communicate!!!

Jan 14, 2014 2:57 AM in response to derKlecksby Johnny Shakes,Installed the Beta with no problems. Everything has been up and running with no glitches. I have a late 2013 27 iMac, i7, 3TB fusion drive with a Focusrite Liquid Sapphire 56 (Firewire to Thunderbolt adapter). I was having drop outs after 20 seconds.
I have Logic running 22 Tracks with plugs on each track in loop mode for 5 hours. No problems.
Thanks to all who have helped. My new dream machine finally works.
I wasn't as mad as some. I started recording with ProTools in the late 90s on a Windows machine, Now that was frustrating.

Jan 14, 2014 12:01 PM in response to derKlecksby Joel Bechtolt,Good News: I can confirm that OS X 10.9.2 fixes the issue with the Fusion Drive and MBox Mini (and possibly other USB Audio devices).
My Hardware:
27" iMac, latest version, 3.5 GHz i7
3TB Fusion Drive
8 GB RAM
Drobo 5D hooked up via Thunderbolt
2 24" LED Cinema displays, one directly connected to Thunderbolt, one chained off the Drobo's second Thunderbolt port
MBox Mini connected via USB on Cinema Display that is chained off the Drobo
Logic Pro X 10.0.6
Previous symptoms:
Audio drop outs after a few minutes in all sound related applications
Audio degradation in Logic
Both iTunes and Spotify Apps could (and often) froze machine (no mouse or trackpad or keyboard input until hard restart)
None of these issues occured when switching all audio to go through iMac's built in speakers.
Last night I installed the Mavericks 10.9.2 Combo Update (13C32) available right now only to developers, but you can find it, it's out there.
Everything works just fine now.
Stress test:
Before I went to bed I put a large Spotify playlist on shuffle and repeat, did the same for an iTunes playlist, and looped a 32 track Logic project all at once (yes, this sounded horrible!) and turned the volume down on my MBox Pro. When I woke up and turned the volume up on my MBox Mini, all was still playing through my Event 20/20 speakers. I have worked all day today in Logic and it works great.
I thought I was going to have to send my iMac back for one with just an SSD or perform the Fusion Drive split that people were talking about, but all is well.
Hopefully this update will be released soon for everyone.
Hope this helps. I personally was heartbroken for a couple days as my new machine was pretty much useless and I had already given my awesome early 2011 quad-core MacBook Pro to my brother.
Keep the faith

Jan 14, 2014 12:02 PM in response to Johnny Shakesby TitusQ124,Hey Johnny, am still experiencing issues this end. Got a 1TB fusion drive & using a Focusrite 2i2.. Does ANYONE know of ANY interfaces that are having no issues at all.... with OS X Mavericks?
-
Jan 14, 2014 12:09 PM in response to derKlecksby McNezza,Titus - did you install the class compliant drivers from focusrite for the Scarlett? (then reboot). I have the exact same setup as you, Mavericks, 2i2, 10.9.2 beta and everything works.

Jan 14, 2014 12:29 PM in response to McNezzaby TitusQ124,Hey McNezza, I don't have 10.9.2 beta... Where do I get this dude? Oh and yes I've run class compliant mode.

Jan 14, 2014 1:11 PM in response to TitusQ124by undrob,One more to the list.
I have a late 2013 21" iMac, 3,1 GHz i7, 16 GB RAM, 1TB fusion drive with a MOTU Ultralite Mk3 Hybrid (connected via the Thunderbolt to Firewire adapter).
I was running OS X 10.9.1, and I was having audio drop outs after 3 to 5 seconds, or sometimes even no audio at all. I had tried with several other audio interfaces (AVID MBOX 3, FOCUSRITE SCARLETT 6i6) and they didn't work either. All of these worked fine both on my PC laptop and on an old 2008 iMac running Snow Leopard.
I downloaded the OS X 10.9.2 Beta Version that you posted here and now it seems to work much better, but I still seem to get some glitches and occasional drop-outs. It is somehow "acceptable" now, but not what I was expecting from an iMac whatsoever.
I posted my case to the feedback link, hope Apple work on this and they release a stable version of the MacOS X 10.9.2 that fixes completely and permanently the issue!
Thanks for all the contributors to this thread, it was really helpful!
