Q: how can I use my Verizon Samsung Galaxy S4 to tether my 4g connection to my eMac....I do not have an aircard on my eMac

Please advise of any way I can tether with my wireless connection via usb. Thanks

    Even if this was possible, your eMac only has USB 1.0 speeds and data speeds would be very slow.

    Hi,

     

    Instead, it may be better to set the mobile phone to be used as a mobile hotspot. That would allow connections from Wi-Fi capable computers. In order to make the eMac Wi-Fi capable, an external wireless Ethernet bridge (also known as a gaming or media adapter, such as Linksys WET610N or Netgear WNCE2001) can be connected to the Ethernet port of the computer.

     

    Generally speaking, drivers for USB can be a problem, especially with earlier versions of Mac OS. Through the use of a wireless Ethernet bridge, such difficulties can be avoided.

     

    A modern wireless Ethernet bridge should support the latest wireless security standards.
