Do you have a Trash folder in Mail? Anything in that?

Thanks a lot for answering me so quickly. YES, you're right, the deleted messages are all in the Trash folder. But, what I want to know is how come deleted messages always USED TO appear in the Deleted Items folder, but this folder is completely empty now. (I also don't have a Deleted Messages folder any more, which is another puzzling thing). I do not know why these changes happened, and/or where something got changed to make deleted emails go to Trash instead of the Deleted Items folder .... do you have an answer to this? That would help me better understand Mail's preferences and how to manage them. THANKS!

In Mail>Preferences>Accounts, there are 3 tabs there, in ine of those is there a setting to move Deleted items to the Trash after a certain number of days? Could this be a Setting on your WebMail Server's end if IMAP?
I don't know for certain, but I suspect if Deleted Messages are moved to the Trash, there are no more Deleted Messages, as I think that is just a "Smart Mailbox" to point to messages marked as Deleted.

Yes, there's a setting to "move deleted messages to the Trash mailbox" and I have that option ticked, so my messages do go to that Trash mailbox. And yes it makes sense that if Deleted Messages are moved to the Trash they would no longer be in a Deleted Messages folder. By the way, what does IMAP mean in your email???

IMAP is on of the eMail protocols, like POP is anither one...
