Unless anything has changed since he posted, Imp68 has a method for creating a new Apple ID which is an @icloud.com address:

however this isn't related to the number of iCloud accounts which can be created on any one device, which as we've discussed is limited to three.

Has the Mac or device you are using already been used to create iCloud accounts? There is a limit of three for any one device. If this is the case you can use another Mac or iOS device to create an iCloud account and then you will be able to sign into it with the first one.

I want to create a new iCloud account (AppleID) on my Mac, but it says:

Account Limit Reached

This device is no longer eligible for creating an iCloud accunt.

This seems ridiculous to me, and I don't have another device to create a new account, I want in on THIS machine ...

Sorry, but ridiculous or not, that is the way things are set up by Apple. Any given device has a lifetime iCloud account creation limit of 3 accounts. Once a device has been used to create 3 iCloud accounts, that device can never again be used to create a new iCloud account. Simple reality I'm afraid.

I used this machine to create at least 17 iCloud accounts, it gave no problems at all before, this must be a serious bug, I hope !!

But I need this to create an AppleID using a xxx@icloud.com as AppleID, and don't want to name the new AppleID as an other foreign email adress.

As far as I know there is no other way to create an AppleID using any xxx@icloud address ??

If you look back through these forums, since the very creation of the iCloud service, there has always been a lifetime limit on accounts created by any one device. I have no idea how you got away with making 17, but that would represent an anomaly, not the norm.

it is not a bug though - it has always been this way for new iCloud accounts created from any pariticlular device.
