    Hi Everybody

I find this mesure a very stupid move by Apple. Any way i think you guys already know that you can simply create a contact.vcf (by exporting your contacts on your mac Vcard) and then email this file to your ipad. click on the vcf file after download and you can sysc all your contacts)

    Hi Abootorab

well, what i meant was your own mail account configuerd into your ipad. you will receive a normal email with contacts.vcf file and once you download and open the file it will directly ask you if you want to creat new contacts or add them to existing ones!

hope this answer your question :-)

I have been so angry at every turn on the recent upgrade to Mavericks on my 4 year old MBAir. I upgraded from 10.6.9 and the list of losses has been painful.

Not to mention the hours of research into fixes for the lack of color sidebar icons, iTunes not working, limited "Spaces" to the more annoying "fetching" permissions bug. ACL's still showing up in the permissions etc.  It takes 3 time longer to boot and is systemically slower. But I went over the top when after 2 months with this "improved" OS, I found I could not sync my calendar and contacts.

Why Apple has to break everything every few years is beyond me.

It used to be an elegant simple OS that just worked in the background, letting me be productive and happy. Now they have determined it is in my best interests to have a dumbed down iPad-like experience on a mobile computer or desktop.

Now it has become an annoying in-your-face OS with popups and reminders and Upgrades and Reports etc.  It is a rare thing now to sit at my mac without having to do something that isn't related to my workflow at hand.  I'm just ****** about this trend.

So Im heading back to 10.6.9.

I had  wanted to buy a new MBAir for its speed and thunderbolt etc but it won't even boot into 10.6.9 on an external drive.  Broken again.

I'm pretty much done lauding Apple and it's products. If there is a company out there with a true unix system (not linux) i'd bolt right now.

Well, I could live with Contacts and Calender synching over iCloud only. I use that anyway.

But I have five e-mail accounts that are setup on my system (working in different companies, private one, etc.). I own an iPhone, and iPad, and an iPad mini. Now I have to manually add all e-mail accounts to all my devices. Before this was done with a few clicks. Sorry, apple but this is just stupid and useless. *Although* I'm using iCloud I'm still not able to sync my e-mail account information. This is a huge step back. If things like that don't work anymore I can also buy some cheap Android phone. The reason that integration is seamless is the main reason to have a full apple stack. And this kind of breaks it. So please give us at least the option back to sync accounts back and forth.

I use an iMac connected to an ethernet (real connection!) and have no need of WiFi. iCloud is neither desirable nor necessary.  I now cannot sync my iPhone calendar with that on my iMac.  Shame on you Apple for dumbing down OS to make everything look like an iPad. When will you fix this? Please fire the engineering team who decided to delete the tabs!

You are only talking to other users in this user-to-user forum. If you want to communicate with Apple use http://apple.com/feedback, or call Apple's support line.

Apple has decided by all us which is better to use the iCloud. It is not as close to a dictatorship? Why not leave the option to sync via USB? So everyone is happy and Apple will continue to be my idol.

But the power is stronger and the need for raw material for stronger companies: our data.

At the moment there is no local sync option as easy to set up as the USB sync was to use. Please add your voice to the Apple feedback pages if you hope Apple might bring back this kind of option.

Currently Apple have structured things so that the easy-to-use option is firstly iCloud, or, secondly, other cloud-based services. Doing anything else looks technically daunting for the average user (including me).

For those, like me, for whom local syncing is a critical issue, it may be worth pointing out that there is a local sync solution that can be used just between your Mac and your iPhone. It is wifi rather than USB cable, but it works with nothing more required than your Mac and your iPhone.

It involves setting up some software on your Mac, but after that it works seamlessly IME. I am not an IT specialist, just a fairly ordinary user who has been with Macs for a long time now. I was able to set this solution up for myself following the User Tip which Barney-15E has created. It takes you through the process step by step. On another thread I've described the process of moving your 'On my Mac' calendars and contacts so that they will be synced under the new setup.

Once set up syncing will happen automatically between your devices on, say, your home network, or will happen between iPhone and Mac if you have a wifi enabled Mac and link them together using the 'Create Network…' option on your Mac's wifi menu.

Another way of achieving the same result would be to stump up $20 for OS X Mavericks Server where the process of settting it up may be a little more user friendly. I've seen posts by others about how that solution worked for them.

I hope this is of some help to you.

Just fought through the same prolem.  Fortunately Tab still exists on Windows.  Not an option for lifetime MAc'rs, and a pain and primitive, but it worked.  They used to care about customers, but . . . . .

Hi to everyone who posted on this issue,

I have send my dis-satisfied feedback to Apple on this. I do not like this either. I am angry at Apple for forcing the icloud on us. I told Apple in my feedback complaint that I now hold Apple responsible if any of my personal information ever becomes comprimised. I hope other's will also complain via feedback.

Wake up Apple! There is no need for me to share all my personal data with you, via the icloud, when a simple cable from my Mac to my iPod will do. It should be the option of the users, not you.

I want to have certain information on my iPad as distinguished my iPhone. Without the "Info" you have no control over what is now being put on your iPhone or your iPad. What a screw up!!!

I noticed that my contacts had not updated in awhile, I looked, and to my dismay the Info Tab is gone.....

Why "Fix" something that isnt broken?!?! Apple has several things that actually need to be fixed, but instead they take away key features? I am less and less impressed with Apple every day.....

I think each and everyone needs to voice the same concerns on the APP Store review section.

If enough people know about this problem they won't update it and (I hope) that Apple would be smart enough to do something about it.

And as Wendy Robin stated leave feedback at http://www.apple.com/feedback/itunesapp.html
